I know the title sounds rude, but think about it; (Bad punctuation FTW!) my parents are the worse back seat or side seat drivers a person could have in their car. When I started driving down in NW Florida (P'Cola!), I had a Driver's Permit which allowed me to drive as long as someone that was 21 years of age or older that had a driver's license was in the passenger seat. This ended up usually being one of my parents. Now, my parents are two very different people, my mom is a worrier my dad is a distractor.
So the first day I start to drive I drive with my mom from the DMV to my house, lets just say, biggest mistake ever. The next thirty minutes was filled with, "Make sure your doing 5 under.", "Make sure your in the lines.", "Oh my god a cop your speeding slow dow slowdown!", and "You almost hit that man!". All of which, out of respect (grudgingly), I sat through. It. All.
So the next day my dad was like, "Hey, Richard, lets go to the store, I'll let you drive the Avalance." Naturally, I jumped at this idea and hopped in the driver's seat, put the key in the ignition, and made that V8 Fuel Injected Battle Tank engine roar to life. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. My dad and I are driving down the road when his phone rings and he opens it and says, "Oh look a picture of your sister. Hey Richard look at this!" I'm driving a 3 and half ton truck down a narrow one car wide road and he wants me to look at his phone...so I say, "I'm driving." he says, "So?" I had to pull over and repeadedly bang my head upon the steering wheel.
Day 3.
I drive with my grandma was visitng from Texas. Nothing happened.....
Moral of this story: Someone other than your parents needs to be in that passenger seat, or you'll turn out like me...a crazed individual who has nervous break downs while driving.
